Why sponsor Youth Hockey?
Hockey is one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S. Also, locally with the addition of the Phoenix Coyotes and the success of the Taylor Cup Champion Phoenix Mustangs, more and more of our young people are being drawn to the sport of Ice Hockey. By supporting youth hockey you are identifying yourself or your company with a positive force in our community that is truly affecting the lives of our young people.
Why sponsor Youth Hockey through VOSHA?
Are all hockey organizations the same? We say a resounding NO! Valley of the Sun Hockey Association has strived through its twelve-year history to provide a positive yet challenging environment for young people. We strive to teach our young people to be team players as well as encourage them in their individual accomplishments. Our priority is the young person.
Also, VOSHA is a 501(c)(3) corporation. Therefore, your sponsorship is fully tax deductible. We have minimal administration costs so nearly 100% of your donation goes to the operation of VOSHA.
Recreational Team Sponsorship
This type of sponsorship goes to support what we would call a “House team”. These are children at the beginner to intermediate skill level. This is the heart and soul of VOSHA. Without this level, the Travel or All-star teams wouldn’t have any players to draw from. There are six divisions as follows:
- Mini-Mites (6 and under)
- Mites (8 and under)
- Squirts (10 and under)
- Peewees (12 and under)
- Bantams (14 and under)
- Midgets (17 and under)
All recreational teams or house teams not only play other teams within our organization, but will also travel to Scottsdale, Chandler, Peoria, Tempe, Tucson, and Flagstaff in order to play other recreational teams in their organizations. A minimum donation of $75 is requested, and any donation of $150 or more is rewarded with a team sponsorship plaque. Donations above $1000 are eligible for other types of recognition up to and including banners or dasher boards. Please inquire with the association if your organization is interested in other recognition.
In closing, VOSHA, a parent run, non-profit, volunteer organization wants to thank you for helping to make Ice Hockey more affordable for more kids to be able to play.
